Obesity contributes to global warming
UK researchers have stated that obese and overweight people require more fuel to transport them and the food they eat, which make the emission of greenhouse gases even worse.

Things aren’t so good. To our day, there are at least 400 million obese adults, and the World Health Organization projects that by 2015 over 2.3 billion people will be overweight and more than 700 million will be obese.
In their model, researchers considered 40% of the world population to have a body mass index of near 30. BMI represents a calculation of height to weight, and the normal range is considered to be between 18 and 25.
Researchers have discovered that obese people require 18% more calories per day than people with a normal BMI. This leads to the conclusion that a slimmer population would require less fuel to travel, so the emission of greenhouse gases will decrease.
Researchers now want to find out just how much the heavier population contributes to climate change, higher fuel prices and food shortage. In the meantime, researchers aim to create better policies for reducing obesity and the global demand for both fuel and food.

obesity otherwise is unproductive for human health and now it is proved it is bad for environment and responsible for the green house gases emission..

So, what about athletes, who generally require more calories than the average semi-sedentary individual, and bodybuilders, who both eat more and weight more than average?
They’re both healthy groups, but contributing more to global warming than less healthy persons by this logic.

We just can’t seem to place enough stigma on people: “blonds are brainless”, “skinny people are anorexic”, “fat people increase the liability in the insurance pool”, “all blacks are a welfare burden”. Stigma, stigma, stigma, stigma, stigma, stigma, stigma, stigma, stigma, stigma, stigma….. Just live and let live, will ya?
